Tom Thibodeau - Fastest to 100 Wins

With the Chicago Bulls win last night against the Orlando Magic, Tom Thibodeau has become the fastest coach to reach 100 wins in NBA history. Thibodeau accomplished this feat in only 130 games coached.

Thibodeau beat out Red Auerbach (135 games), Johnny Kundla (137 games), Les Harrison (138 games), and Pat Riley (139 games).

Last year's NBA coach of the year, has his Chicago Bulls at 38-10 not only the best record in the Eastern Conference, but the entire league this season.

The Manning Crashers

As the Peyton Manning sweepstakes come to an end, the stories of his time during free agency will not. Officially reported yesterday by Michael Lombardi and Jason La Canfora (of the NFL Network), apparently when the Seattle Seahawks found out that Manning had a meeting in Denver, they flew a crew of team officials out to Denver to try and woo the 4 time MVP.

Manning focused on his Bronco meeting did not re-schedule any time to accommodate the Seahawks.

The Seahawks eventually ended up signing Matt Flynn (the Green Bay Packers former backup QB) this past Sunday, to compete with Tavaris Jackson this upcoming season.

Lombardi dubbed the Seahawks "The Manning Crashers" yesterday on the NFL Networks coverage of the Manning signing.

Jermaine O'Neal - Out For The Season

Boston Celtic's C Jermaine O'Neal will have season ending surgery on his ailing left wrist.

The Celtics announced Monday night that O'Neal has a wrist condition that was irritated by a fall during a game against the Dallas Mavericks at the end of February. The wrist has not responded well to therapy, and the decision was made to proceed with surgery.

This may end O'Neal's tenure in the NBA, as he could barley stay healthy the past few years.

"I'm not sure what my basketball future is, but I want to thank the cities of Portland, Indiana, Miami, Toronto and Boston for 16 great years," O'Neal wrote on Twitter.

The Celt's, currently 7th in the Eastern Conference, are rumored to be looking at Ronny Turiaf as O'Neal's replacement.

Manning / Bronco's, close to finalizing a deal

Peyton Manning's agent Tom Condon and the Denver Broncos are currently working on finalizing a deal that would bring the 4 time league MVP to Denver.

After spending 14 seasons with the Colts, Manning was released earlier this month before he was due to receive a 28 million dollar roster bonus. Manning did not play this past season due to recovery after his 4th neck surgery.

Manning's new contract is rumored to be a 5 year deal worth 95 million.

The Bronco's have scheduled a tentative press conference for this afternoon, where they are expected to formally announce the signing.

Sucks to be Tim Tebow right now...

*UPDATE: The deal is now final. 5 year deal - 96 M. Press conference at 3 PM today on the NFL Network.*

Hines Ward To Retire?

Former Pittsburgh Steeler WR Hines Ward has scheduled A press conference for 12 PM this afternoon. It is rumored that Ward will announce his retirement today.

The former Super Bowl MVP was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month. Ward 36, was set to receive 4 million next season. Ward spent all 14 of his seasons with the Steelers. During that time he was selected to the pro bowl 4 times, he caught 1000 balls for a yardage total of 12083, and 85 receiving touchdowns. He was named Super Bowl MVP in 2006 for Super Bowl XL, in which the Steelers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 21-10.

"This isn't how I wanted this chapter of my career to end," Ward said in a statement, after the Steelers advised him of their decision. "I did everything in my power to remain a Steeler and finish what I started here 14 years ago."

"I do feel that I still have more football left in me and I am looking forward to playing in the NFL, again, this upcoming season," said the former Steeler WR.

Stay tuned...

*UPDATE: It's a done deal. The Steelers all-time leading WR in yards has officially retired*
